Who We Are
Raksirang Development Organization (RDO) operates in the rugged and remote north-western corridors of the Makwanpur district. We focus our efforts on the Raksirang Rural Municipality, specifically serving the communities of Kankda, Khairang, and Sarikhet.
Established in 2077 BS (2020 AD), RDO was born out of a critical need to address systemic challenges in rural Nepal. Our region primarily relies on traditional subsistence agriculture, where educational reach and human development indices remain significantly below the national average. We are particularly recognized for our aggressive stance against child marriage and our commitment to gender equality.
To bridge the geographical barriers, we operate **Raksirang FM 94.9 MHz**, a community radio station that serves as a vital lifeline for remote settlements, providing information, education, and a platform for local voices to reach the municipality and beyond.
Geographic Scope
Our operational area borders Hetauda Sub-metropolitan to the east and the Rapti Municipality of Chitwan to the west, covering a vast mountainous terrain of 226.7 km².
